About This Event...
Thank you for your interest in the upcoming Trust Based Relational Intervention Workshop. This workshop is for caregivers, parents, teachers, grandparents; if you work with or care for kids in any capacity then this is for you!
This will be a fun and informative time to look at the following:
Understand the basics of trauma’s impact on the developing brain.
Learn the practical ways to connect to children in your home, and create a culture of identifying needs and empowering children to have those needs met.
Gain the tools needed to help address challenging behaviors in children who have experienced trauma, while staying connected.
More about Trust Based Relational Intervention:
TBRI® Caregiver Training (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) is a caregiving intervention created by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at Texas Christian University. With a foundation in attachment, this program is specifically designed to help children who have been impacted by trauma, or need a higher level of intention in parenting. The TBRI Caregiver Training is delivered by Julie Salwasser, a TBRI Practitioners trained through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Childhood Development.
About the workshop facilitator:
Julie Salwasser - Hi, I’m Julie! My family and I are based in Camas, WA. I’ve been married for 15 years to my husband, Brian, who works in law enforcement. I’m a mom of 3 children who have joined our family both through birth and adoption. Having been through various seasons, I’ve learned that whether in joy or challenge there is beauty to be found.
In addition to parenting my own children, my experience comes from 16 years of working in the field of adoption and supporting families, I’m also a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Certified Practitioner.
