What is Heritage School of Ministry?
Heritage School of Ministry (HSM) is facilitated by Heritage Church NW in Vancouver, WA. The purpose of HSM is to fulfill the mandate found in Ephesians 4:12 to equip Jesus' disciples to edify and build the church. Our desire is to help students identify ways they can uniquely serve the body of Christ and form a foundation to pursue meaningful ministry.
What should I expect when attending HSM?

HSM classes run seven weeks at a time. During each seven week session, we will study through two core books (see the current class list below). *There will be three sessions offered throughout the year.

Classes are Sundays at Heritage Church from 6 PM - 8:30 PM.

All materials needed for each session are included in the cost of enrollment.

HSM offers the option to pursue two track options: Certification or Enrichment.

The Certification Track is for those who are especially interested in gaining the ministry skills needed to launch new ministries and even plant churches. The Certification Track is a 3-year commitment from HSM to you and you to HSM.

The Enrichment Track is a great opportunity for those wanting to gather knowledge and skill to enhance their ability to edify and build up the body of Christ.

You do not have to decide which path you are pursuing before attending the session's first class. Certification vs. Enrichment will be covered further during orientation in the first week.

You can expect 3-5** hours of homework. The coursework has been created to be valuable and doable no matter your time commitments outside of attending HSM.

Enrollment includes access to assigned Heritage Church Conferences while attending HSM.

What if I’m not starting from the beginning or need to take a break? Heritage School of Ministry is designed for students to step in and out of the order of sessions as needed. For example, it may be common for students to start at Session 2, rejoin for Session 4 and step out again during Session 6. HSM sessions run from 1 through 9. Currently, sessions will repeat once the 9th session is completed. (Reminder: Sessions are made up of 7 classes). Therefore, if a student misses a session they can wait for that session to cycle back through.
**Length of time spent on homework depends on your certification track, learning style, what time/energy you have that week, and each week's specific content.

Remote Learning

While in-person engagement is encouraged, there are some individuals that remote-learning is the only way for them to participate. You are most welcome! Here are a few points for remote students:

It’s encouraged to order and purchase your textbooks at least 2 weeks before the start of class.

You will have access to LIVE and recorded class sessions as well as digital handouts. Any additional books included in the session, remote students are welcome to purchase separately.

Remote students will be considered in the Enrichment Track.

How much does it cost to enroll and how do I pay?
-
Each seven week session costs $300.
-
HSM values discipleship, formation, and participation. To facilitate this we endeavor to make the cost of enrollment accessible to everyone.

At the time of enrollment you will pay a $50 non-refundable deposit.

Following the 4th class of the new session we will provide an invoice for your remaining balance. You can pay the entire balance or make payments (final payment due the final week of the session). A payment link will be provided to registrants.

Payment in full by the 7th week of the session.

Your enrollment covers all materials needed for the session. Tuition includes more than 14 hours of class time enrichment, 2 textbooks (and may include additional books provided by Dr. Dav), hardcopy handouts with binder, and admission to any assigned Heritage Church conferences or workshops.

When you register for HSM, you become a partner with a colleague on the other side of the planet - we are duplicating our school of ministry in Ghana!
Things to know if you chose to make payments...

We have three options to make a payment.

Cash/check via giving envelope: Place cash/check in envelope with your name and designate HSM. You can drop off this payment option in one of our giving boxes or at the church office.

Credit Card via giving envelope: Write down your credit card information in envelope with your name and designate HSM. You can drop off this payment option in one of our giving boxes or at the church office.

Digital payment: We will provide you with a payment link the first week of class.

You will be able to start making payments as soon as you have receive your remaining balance invoice.

We ask that you keep track of what you owe but will send you a review of the final balance due prior to the last week of classes.

Now Offering Summer ONLINE Access to Past Sessions
HSM is offering a summer online session where new or returning students can review previously recorded sessions. There will be no in-person meetings over the summer; all interactions with HSM Admin and access to content will be remote. Certification Track students will be allowed to earn credits. Please enroll and identify which session(s) you’d like to review (Session 1 Spring 2023, Session 2 Fall 2023, Session 3 Winter 2024, or Session 4 Spring 2024). The online access to previously recorded sessions ends August 31, 2024. For new to HSM or Certification Track students it is recommended to enroll at the latest by August 1st in order to complete the reading, viewing the class recordings, and complete the course objectives.
